What began as a way to cope with depression and anxiety has blossomed into a comic series that explores life’s challenges through humor. The series has evolved over time, now featuring not only those raw, relatable moments but also a variety of whimsical random creations. Chris, a Canadian artist, describes his comic Admiral Wonderboat as a semi-autobiographical work where he imagines himself as a cartoon turtle. While the turtle is central to the story the comic is filled with other lovable and fun characters that bring the narrative to life. If you’re intrigued by Chris’s work take a look at the latest creations below. They offer a perfect mix of humor and heart that fans of his previous work will surely enjoy.

We had the opportunity to chat with Chris about the underlying essence of his comics. He explained, Iโd say my art is cute and a bit weird and my comics are really just how I view the world. I want everything to be fun and humorous. Life itself inspires my work whether it’s a happy moment or a sad one. Sometimes, it’s difficult to find the right words but comics allow me to talk about anything and express everything Iโm feeling. Through his comics, Chris reflects on life in a way that is both lighthearted and deeply expressive using humor as a tool to navigate the ups and downs of everyday experiences.

Chris shared his thoughts on what he hopes his audience gets from his cartoons. My main goal is for people to find them really funny and hey maybe even send me a trophy. But in all seriousness, I just want my comics to make people laugh connect with them and provide a moment of lightness a brief escape from the pressures of taking life too seriously. His cartoons are meant to be a source of joy offering people a smile and a fun perspective on life.
