We reached out to the creator behind ChickenPupPie comics to learn more about their creative process. Curious about their journey into comic creation, we asked how it all began. I’ve always enjoyed drawing, they shared. For a while, I did freelance work illustrating children’s books, but I eventually burned out working on long projects based on other people’s stories. Creating webcomics has been a refreshing change—it’s something short, completely my own, and just a fun way to spend my spare time.

While we love following the adventures of these adorable pups, we couldn’t help but wonder why the artist chose dogs as the main characters. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a deep reason behind it. Dogs are just cute, and their ears are fun to draw the artist shared. They do loosely represent my husband and me, but it’s not a direct reflection of real life. Some stories are inspired by our daily experiences, silly jokes we’ve heard, or even games we’ve played. Honestly, ideas can come from anywhere.

Lack of motivation, lack of inspiration it happens they shared. “But since these comics are just a hobby for me, I don’t force it. If it stops feeling fun, I simply set it aside for a while until the creativity flows again. This relaxed approach allows them to keep their work fresh ensuring that each comic remains an enjoyable and authentic expression of their creativity.
