Mesut Kaya shared that as a child he was completely obsessed with cartoons and comics. “I would watch every cartoon show I could find and read all the comics available at the public library he recalled. “When I realized that most of the shows and games I loved came from Japan, my focus shifted more toward anime and manga. This early fascination with animated storytelling and Japanese culture has greatly influenced his creative style today, blending humor with a unique artistic vision.

I’m not really into giant robots and action Mesut admitted. Like every kid my age, I loved Dragon Ball, but more for the gags than the fights. What fascinated me most was that Akira Toriyama wasn’t just the artist and author he also managed to seamlessly weave humor into the action. It was this mix of humor and storytelling that inspired Mesut to want to become a mangaka, specializing in gag mangas. That was my dream, but I didn’t pursue it he said. Fast forward to today, and I’m a digital designer who sketches here and there, bringing those old influences to life in my comics.

Mesut Kaya is a UI/UX and motion designer, meaning he’s always in front of a screen. Maybe that’s why all my art is digital he explained. Sometimes I’ll scribble on paper, but I don’t have a beautiful sketchbook. His desire to tell stories has always been a driving force, whether through books he once wanted to become an author, music he plays guitar, indie game development, or comics. I’ve always wanted to express myself through different mediums and now I get to do that with my digital art he added.
