We asked Mike about how his style has changed over time, and he shared the following. My art is constantly evolving, but I didn’t notice significant changes until I compared older work to my newer pieces. It’s tough to pinpoint exactly when the shift happened. Over time, my characters have become more dynamic less stiff and I’ve put more effort into my backgrounds. One major improvement recently is my approach to coloring. I’ve been experimenting more with colors, often breaking rules especially when a character is showing emotion. It’s a fun process and I hope it gives readers another reason to look forward to each new comic.
