When reflecting on the challenges he faced early in his comic journey, Andrés explained When I first started this project, I didn’t know how to combine humor with design. I loved both but it was a real challenge, and it still is. He went on to reveal the secret behind his improvement: practice. The thing that helped me the most was practice, practice, practice. I used to make three comics a day because I really wanted to improve, and I knew there wasn’t a shortcut or a secret formula to making comics.His commitment to constant creation has been essential in developing his unique style.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a comic artist according to Andrés is the ability to do what he loves while staying close to his family. I work from home, so I get to spend a lot of time with my family, which is amazing. Having both short-term and long-term goals keeps me and my wife motivated. We’re constantly brainstorming new ideas for Wawawiwa and it pushes us to keep going.
